DIY: Mini Travel Bag Organizers

Happy Friday Everyone!

If you love Teresa Collins products and the theme of traveling, then you will love the DIY we are making today!

Today's project is part of my collaboration with Xyron since I'm a member of their design team! This means that you will be seeing a Xyron machine in action! For this particular project, I will be showcasing the Xyron® 9'' Creative Station and the Xyron® Teresa Collins Mega Runner. I've talked about the Xyron® 9'' Creative Station and Xyron Tape Runner before, so if you want to learn more about them, then click here (for the creative station) and click here (for the Xyron Tape Runner).

Also, in this project, I will be using items from Teresa Collins! I have been a fan of Teresa Collins's products for years and was so happy to find out that she was our partner for this month! Now if you're not familiar with Teresa Collins, she creates tons of gorgeous products which are usually dripping in gold (lol). For example, she makes scrapbooking paper, stickers, stamps, embellishments, inks, and has even partnered up with Xyron! Needless to say, all her products are impeccably put together and she makes (product wise) a little bit of everything!

Specifically, in today's post, I will be showing you how to makeover some simple plastic travel bags to hold and organized all your stuff while traveling. This DIY was actually inspired by Teresa Collins's Wanderlust collection because it was just so darn pretty and made me want to travel!

Supplies
Teresa Collins: Studio Gold Clip Set
Plastic Travel Bags (the size I used is 7 1/2 inches by 7 inches)
Scissors
Pen (not pictured)
Awl (not pictured/optional)

Step 1: Cut out a piece of scrapbooking paper that will fit the inside of your travel bag. With that in mind, it is better (in this case) if your paper is a bit smaller than the inside of your bag and not the exact size. Once that is done, then begin to cut out additional pieces and arrange them to create a mini layout. For the picture shown above, I used the following: Wanderlust Collection 12x12 Paper Tiles and Wanderlust Collection 6x6 Paper Pad.

Step 2: Once you are happy with the mini layout, flip each of the smaller paper pieces over. Then use Xyron's Teresa Collins Mega Runner to attach each piece to the larger piece of scrapbooking paper. Also, during this step, you may want to add other embellishments like stickers. For the picture shown above, I used a sticker from the Wanderlust Collection Decorative Sticker Sheet.

Step 3: Grab your mini scrapbook layout and slide it through your Xyron 9'' Creative Station machine. Once your piece has been run through the machine, cut around the laminated piece, leaving about a quarter of an inch of laminate on each side.

Step 4: Grab a piece of scrap paper and write what you want to store in your bag (like jewelry). Then attached that piece of paper to the outside of your travel bag by using your Xyron Teresa Collins Mega Runner. Once the piece of paper has been attached lay the gold bookplate on top of the paper and make two marks where the holes will be. Finally, use your awl to poke holes in the top layer of the travel bag and attach the gold bookplate using the brads. By doing this, you have now created a cute label for your bag!

When your label has been created, slide in your laminated scrapbook layout, and you are now ready to use your mini travel bag organizers!

I just loved how these mini travel bag organizers came out! My favorite mini travel bag is definitely the jewelry bag!

In case you are wondering these travel bag organizers can be used for almost anything. In the above photos, I created one for jewelry, Instax photos, and for souvenirs to give to a friend. Depending on your travel needs, these bags could hold almost anything. In addition, the fact that the decorate mini scrapbook layout is laminated and can be removed from the bag, makes it a good travel coaster or little mat to set your stuff on!

As always, to follow along with all the crafty fun and to never miss a new design team member's project, check out Xyron's Facebook and Pinterest page!

What do you think? Do you like these mini travel bag organizers?
