DIY: Post-it Notes Holder

Hello Everyone!

If you love post-it notes and like having cute ways to display items on your desk, then you will love today’s project. This is because I am going to show you how to make your own DIY Post-it Notes Holder!

Today's project is part of my collaboration with Xyron since I'm a member of their design team! This means you will be seeing some Xyron products in action! For this particular project, I will be showcasing the Xyron® 3'' Disposable Sticker Maker and Xyron® Tape Runner. I've talked about the Xyron 3’’ Disposable Sticker Maker and Xyron Tape Runner before, so if you want to learn more about them, then click here (for the Xyron 3'' Disposable Sticker Maker) and click here (for the Xyron Tape Runner).

Also, in this project, I will be using items from Paper Smooches! Paper Smooches is a company that creates Photopolymer clear stamps and steel metal dies. The company offers a variety of super cute hand illustrated stamps and dies which range in theme. For example, you can find stamps that represent the alphabet, critters, the holidays, and much more. With that being said, the nice thing about their products is that they are not only adorable but are made in the USA! In today’s project, I will be using Paper Smooches ''Just a Note'' stamp set.

So, if you want to learn how to make your own Post-it Notes Holder, then keep reading below!

Supplies
Xyron® 3'' Disposable Sticker Maker
Xyron® Tape Runner
Paper Smooches: Just a Note (stamp set)
DCWV Double Sided Cardstock Stack (I'm using the light pink)
Other Decorative Paper (optional / not pictured)
Acrylic Block
Black Ink
Sponge Daubers (optional)
Pen or Pencil (not pictured)
Post-it Notes (regular size)
Scissors
Score Tool
Ruler
Velcro

Step 1: Cut out a piece of scrapbooking paper that is 8 ½ inches by 3 ½ inches.

Step 2: Flip your scrapbooking paper piece over and score lines at 1 ½ inches, 2 inches, 5 inches and 5 ½ inches. Once you have scored those lines, gently fold on those score lines.

Refer to the above photo for the score lines and measurements.

Crafty Side Note: The DCWV Double Sided Cardstock Stack that I am using, has a light color on one side and a darker color on the other side.So (in the above photo), it might look like a different piece of scrapbooking paper, however, it's really the same piece that I used in step 1.

Step 3: Now it’s time to think about how you want to decorate your post-it note holder. For my post-it note holder, I cut out 2 pieces of decorative paper which were 3 ¼ inches by 2 ¾ inches and 1 piece of decorative paper that was 3 ¼ inches by 1 ¼ inches. One of the 3 ¼ inches by 2 ¾ inches papers is for the back of the holder, so I chose not to decorate it.

However, for the other two pieces, I decorated them using Paper Smooches stamp set call ''Just a Note''. To do this, I simply peeled off the typewriter stamp and adhere it to my acrylic block. Then I stamped it onto the 3 ¼ inches by 2 ¾ inches paper (as a whole typewriter) and then only stamped the top portion of the typewriter on the 3 ¼ inches by 1 ¼ inches piece of paper.

I did this because I wanted my post-it note holder to form a whole typewriter when it was closed. Now, even though that was the look I was going for, you can decorate your post-it note holder anyway that you like.

Step 4: Once all your decorative paper pieces have been stamped, begin sliding them through your Xyron 3'' Disposable Sticker Maker.

Keep repeating this process until you have run each piece through your Xyron Sticker Maker.

Step 5: Now take each decorative paper piece and rub the top of the sticker paper. Then peel each paper piece off the sticker paper and adhere them to the front of your post-it note holder.

Step 6: Now grab your sticky-notes and take off the backing or that last page. Then take your Xyron Tape Runner and apply some adhesive to the back of the sticky-note pack. Finally, place the sticky-note pack inside your post-it note holder.

Step 7: Cut two small pieces of velcro and add them to the inside and outside portion of your post-it note holder.

Once your velcro pieces have been added, you are ready to use your new Post-it Note Holder!

♥ ♥ ♥

I can not tell you how much I LOVE these DIY Post-it Notes Holders! They were so easy to make and (I thought) the Paper Smooches ''Just a Note'' stamp set, fit with the whole post-it notes theme perfectly.

After you make your own Post-it Notes Holders, there is a variety of things you could do with them. For example, you could throw one in your purse, keep one on your desk, or give a few away to your co-workers. Honestly, as a post-it notes lover myself, I would be so happy to receive one of these holders! Also, I think we all have that one friend who loves stationery, post-it notes, and general desk supplies, way too much (lol).

As always, to follow along with all the Xyron fun, don't forget to like them on Facebook and to follow their Pinterest page for more project inspiration.

What do you think? Do you like these Post-it Notes Holder?
