Being Brave: Life Update

Hello Everyone,

It's been a long time since my last post.

The last time I wrote, I talked about updating the blog and getting back to writing. However, life decided to test me in a way that I never expected.

In September of 2019, my Mom passed away. It was unexpected, gut-wrenching, and completely devasting. Even those words, or any words in the history of language, don't seem right to describe how I feel. She was a fantastic mother, a phenomenal nurse, and my best friend.

Since her passing, life has not been the same and I see the world, blogging, and business very differently. Due to that, I was thinking about whether or not I would want to come back to blogging. Plus, since life has now dramatically changed and I run my own business (which is separate from this blog), I really have to think about how I spend my time.

So, you may be wondering, why I am writing now.

Well, I started thinking about my Mom and how she was sad when I stopped updating my blog when I started my business in 2018 (side note - Mom was my biggest cheerleader of the blog and of my writing). Then in December, I was given the opportunity to come to Creativation in January 2020 to meet my clients and crafty friends.

With that in mind, I felt this little nudge to start writing again and felt this little nudge to step my toe back into the creative waters.

So, I have decided to be brave and start writing again. Simply because 1) it would make my Mom proud, and 2) God has used this blog to create the opportunities I have now (so ignoring it completely doesn't seem right).

Overall, I have no idea what this blog is going to look like this year. Personally, I feel that the best thing, for now, is to write from a place of joy versus a place of ''trying to keep up'' with the game of blogging.

Thank you for your continued support of my blog and for checking in from time to time. I pray that 2020 is a year of positivity, opportunity, and joy for you and your family.

xo Katie
