Gem Heart Box DIY

Hello Everyone,
February is here! Which means its time to break out the red paint and pretty lace.

To kick off this first week of February, I thought it would be fun to share this simple DIY for decorating a heart shape box. I got my heart shape box from Hobby Lobby but you can get them at practically any craft store. These heart shape (cardboard) boxes are really inexpensive and make a perfect addition to that small gift you may have gotten for that special someone.

The DIY I'll be showing you today is really easy to make and would be a perfect project to make with the kids!

Let's get crafting!

Supplies
Heart Box
Red Paint
Heart Gems
Ribbon
Tacky Glue
Paintbrush

Step 1: Paint your heart box red.

Step 2: Take your heart gems and lay them out in a pattern that you like.

Step 3: When your happy with the arrangement of your heart gems, glue them down with some Tacky Glue.

Step 4: When your heart gems are dry, take your ribbon and start gluing it around the edge of your box. Once you have gone all the way around, cut off the extra ribbon and let your box dry.

As a side note, I used two different pieces of ribbon and layered them together. First I glued down the red ribbon, then glued down the smaller pink ribbon on top.

When your box is completely dry, your done!

Now I don't know about you, but I would love to get a gift in this type of a box!

What do you think? Do you like this gem heart box?
