Dried Up Markers Craft Supple Holder

Hey Guys,
So today I thought I would post a craft tutorial, this was involves one of my favorite craft supples which is markers. I had a bunch of dried out markers that were just taking up space, I didn't want to throw them out so I made this cute little craft supple holder instead. As always it's very easy to make and very fun to create.

Enjoy,
Katie

Dried Up Marker Craft Supple Holder

Supplies
Soup can
Dried Out Markers
Hot Glue Gun
Ribbon (optional)

Step 1: Wash out your soup can, I took the label off mine but you don't have to. Then start hot gluing all of your markers, to your soup can. The trickles thing was getting all of the markers, looking even all the way around the soup can. I found if I took my time and held the soup can on it's side, that the markers came out looking better.

Step 2: After you glue all your markers on your soup can, this is what it should look like. Now you could stop here or you could add more ( which you know I am  ).

Step 3: What I decided to do was add a ribbon around my markers and a bow. What you do is put a bead of hot glue on one marker and press your ribbon into the glue ( picture 1). Then run your ribbon all the way around your markers, then fold the ribbon back on itself ( so you don't have a raw edge) then glue the end of your ribbon to your marker ( picture 2).

Step 4: To make the bow I followed this video from youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrWxTCEgcqM

Then your done.

  1. OOOH I like this. A friend of mine recently sent out a school wide email asking teachers to send her their dried up markers because she found that if you let them soak in water, you can get watercolor paint out of them and extend the life of the marker. I just sent her a link to this so she can make these once the markers are all watercolored out too!!
