Ribbon Spool Christmas Ornament

Good Morning,
Today I thought I would post an ornament d.i.y. This d.i.y is great if you have scraps of paper, ribbon, toys or fabric leftover from other projects. Its really easy to make and the possibilities are endless when it comes to decorating this ornament.

Enjoy,

Step 1: Take a ribbon spool (like picture 1) and tear one of the sides off (like picture 2). My ribbon spool is a mini ribbon spool, but you could use any size you want.

Step 2: Paint your ribbon spool.

Step 3: Trace around your ribbon spool on a piece of scrapbooking paper and cut it out. Then glue the piece of paper inside your ribbon spool.

Step 4: Now here comes the fun part! At this step you can decorate the inside of your ribbon spool anyway you want. I hot glue some stuffing and a small tree to make it look like a tree in the snow. Then on the outside I hot glue some lace. But you could glue a picture on the inside, make a little scene like I did, or leave it the way it is. It's all up to you!

Step 5: Now make a small hole at the top of your ribbon spool, and thread your head pin through the hole. Then take a pair of pliers and bend the rest of the head pin into a loop. Once your done with this, then thread a piece of string through the loop you made.

Then your ready to hang it on your tree!
