Lately I have been seeing different diys for ''how to make your own washi tape''. You can see some of these diys here, here and here. I thought making your own tape sounded like fun so I decided to give it a try. Needles to say making your own tape becomes a little addicting.
Below I put together a small diy for making your own ''washi tape''. I basically put this diy together to show you the different ways that I decorated my ''washi tape''. The actual process of ''making'' the tape is virtually the same for all the diys I saw. You just use masking tape and decorate it. So I did not come up with the idea of using masking tape to create ''washi tape'', this is just my version of the diys I saw.
Ok, now that I'm off my soapbox (haha).
Lets get crafty!
Supplies
Paint
Masking Tape
Markers
Stamps
Paintbrush
Acrylic Stamp Block
Step 1: Tear off two pieces of masking tape and press them onto your acrylic block. The acrylic block is going to be our ''base'' to hold the tape. If you don't have an acrylic block then you could use wax paper instead.

Step 2: Then you can paint your pieces of tape like picture 1 or use Faber-Castell gelatos like picture 2. The gelatos you can use wet or dry and they give you a really pretty back ground. I used the gelatos dry on the orange/pink piece of tape and wet on the green/blue piece of tape.
Step 3: Once your paint is dry you could add more paint, doodle with your markers on top of the paint or use your stamps.
Then your done!
