Candle Candy Dish DIY

Hello Everyone,
Its February 1st which means candy, flowers and Valentines Day is all around the corner. Today I will be showing you guys how to re-vamp an old candle jar into a special Valentines Day candy dish!

Before we get into the diy, I wanted to briefly mention how I cleaned my candle jar out. There are many methods to do this and you can find a whole bunch of ''how to videos'' on youtube about this topic. The easiest way that I found to clean a candle jar out, was to put it in the freezer (for a few hours). After about three hours you can take the jar out of the freezer and you should be able to (with a knife) kinda poke at it and pop it out.

Now that you know all that, we can get crafty!

 Supplies
Mod Podge
Paintbrush
Glitter
Letter Stickers
Candle Jar

Step 1: After you clean out your candle jar, take some Mod Podge and apply it around the rim of the jar.

Step 2: With some glitter on a plate, flip your jar over and press the rim into the glitter. It's kinda like making margarines but without the salt or alcohol (lol). Keep repeating this step until the rim of your jar is covered. Then set it aside to dry.

Step 3: Once your jar is dry then your ready to apply your letter stickers. With your letter stickers, spell out a phrase to put on the front of your jar. I wrote He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, He Loves Me. But you could write any valentine's day phrase or love quote.

Then add your candy and your done!

This idea you could really apply to any holiday. As I'm writing this, Halloween popped into my head. Think about a bigger candle jar with an orange glittered rim and some spooky phrase on the front. I might just have to make one in October (lol).
