Old School Picture Frame D.I.Y

Good Morning,
Today I have a D.I.Y for you! Now this project would make a great holiday gift and is very simple to make. I will warn you that their are 12 steps to this project but its worth it in the end. I hope you guys like it!

Old School Picture Frame 

Supplies
Scissors
Fabric
Glue Gun
A Picture ( what ever size you want your frame to hold)
Stuffing
Pencil
Cardboard
The back of an old frame
Fabric Glue (not pictured)
Yarn (not pictured and optional)

Step 1: Take the back of an old frame and trace around it twice on a piece of cardboard.

Step 2: Then take your picture and place it in the middle of one of your pieces of cardboard. Trace around your picture and cut it out.

Step 3:  Now with a hot glue gun, glue stuffing all the way around your cardboard frame you just made.


Step 4: Now place your frame on your fabric and cut out a square 2 inches bigger then your frame. Then make a X in the middle of your frame.

Step 5: Now cut the X you just made and fold back the four flaps.

Step 6: Place your frame back on the fabric and hot glue your flaps back onto the cardboard (picture 2).

Step 7: Once you've glued the flaps back then start gluing the rest of the fabric around your frame (picture 1). When your done the front of your frame should look like picture 2 and the back should look like picture 3.

Step 8: Now take the other piece of cardboard you cut out and lay it on your fabric. Cut a square little bit bigger then your cardboard piece, then start hot gluing the edges to the cardboard ( picture 2). Once your done one side should like picture 3.

Step 9:  Now flip your cardboard piece over (picture 1) and glue some fabric ( with fabric glue) to your piece of cardboard (picture 2). When your done you should have something like picture 3.


Step 10: Now hot glue your two pieces together, glue only on three sides because you want to leave the top open so you can slide your picture in.


Step 11: Now cut out a stand for your frame and add fabric to the cardboard piece just like step 8 and 9.


Step 12: Now glue your stand to your frame.


Then your done! (As an extra touch I added yarn around my frame to give it more a finish edge but that is optional)
